Spring VI

Spring VI

  • Lens: Zeiss Jena 1.5/75 Biotar
  • Plant: Scilla sibirica - Siberian Squill

Early on the spring scene at Reader's Rock garden, in Calgary, Alberta.

It is worthy to note that there is a sweet spot for the swirliest performance from the Biotar. In this case, being near its minimum focus distance increases the size of bokeh highlights, generally decreasing the number visible thus making the swirl harder to read and less prevalent. It is still possible to note the shape of highlights are more distorted toward the edge of the frame.
